Description
C.V. Stanford’s fame stems mainly from his contribution to Anglican church music. An organist at Trinity Church in Cambridge, these unaccompanied motets were in the nature of a farewell gift, being dedicated to his successor and the choir of the church. The two outer motets are quiet and contemplative in style, contrasting with the energetic middle piece. These three fine church pieces are each between about three minutes long. For unaccompanied SATB and double mixed choir!
